Polynucleotide Therapy

BOOK NOW

Helping your skin renew itself

Polynucleotides are purified fragments of DNA taken from salmon. They are very similar to human DNA, so the body usually tolerates them well. Injected into the skin, they encourage it to make more collagen, elastin and natural moisture.

Your treatment is given by one of our aesthetic doctors in a private suite at 9 Queen Anne Street, inside a CQC-registered hospital. Treatment costs from £500 a session, or £1,350 for a course of three.

The science

Why polynucleotides

As we age, the cells that make collagen slow down. Lines, loose skin and dullness are the visible result of changes that have been happening under the surface for years.

Polynucleotides encourage these cells to make new collagen, elastin and natural moisture. Changes are gradual and vary from person to person.

How the treatment works

We apply numbing cream 20 to 30 minutes before treatment. Your doctor then gives a series of small injections just under the surface of the skin, using a very fine needle around the eyes and mouth, and a blunt cannula or several small injections for larger areas such as the face, neck and chest.

You may have mild redness or swelling where the injections went, which usually settles within a few days. Changes build gradually over a course of sessions.

Afterwards

What to expect

Most people have a course of three sessions, three to four weeks apart. Changes in hydration, fine lines and firmness build gradually over the course and vary from person to person.

There is little downtime. Avoid hard exercise, saunas and other heat for 24 hours. Your doctor may suggest a maintenance session every 6 to 12 months.

Treatment areas

What polynucleotides treat

Polynucleotides can be used on the face and body wherever skin has become thin, crepey or less firm.

Full face
Full-face treatment can help with texture, glow, the look of pores, fine lines and early loss of firmness. It is sometimes combined with Morpheus8 or exosome therapy.

Under the eyes and crow's feet
The skin under the eyes is thin and delicate. Polynucleotides can improve hydration and crepiness here, and help with hollowness and a tired look.

Neck and décolletage
The neck and chest often show signs of ageing early. Polynucleotides can help with crepey skin and the look of horizontal neck lines.

Is polynucleotide therapy right for me?

Polynucleotides suit adults of all skin types. They are most often used from the mid-thirties onwards, but younger people also choose them to look after their skin.

You will see one of our doctors for an aesthetic consultation first. It costs £350, which is credited against your treatment. Book a consultation and your doctor will tell you whether polynucleotide therapy suits you.
