Helping your skin make its own collagen
Biostimulators are injections that encourage your skin to make more of its own collagen and elastin, the proteins that keep skin firm. Rather than adding volume straight away, they work gradually, so changes build slowly and look like your own skin.
Your treatment is given by one of our aesthetic doctors in a private suite at 9 Queen Anne Street, inside a CQC-registered hospital. Sculptra starts from £700, Radiesse from £750 and Juläine from £1,100, and your doctor will suggest the option that suits you.

Why biostimulators
Encouraging collagen rather than replacing volume
As we age, the skin slowly loses collagen and elastin, and the face can look less firm. Fillers replace lost volume with a gel.
Biostimulators work differently. They prompt your skin to produce new collagen in the layers where it has thinned.

How the treatment works
We apply numbing cream first, and most people find the treatment comfortable. Your doctor then gives a series of small injections, which take a few minutes, at points chosen for your face and your goals.
You will not see the full change straight away. Your skin makes new collagen gradually over the following weeks and months, and results vary from person to person.

Afterwards
What to expect afterwards
Mild redness, swelling or small bumps where the injections went are common and usually settle within a few days. Most people go back to their normal routine the next day. Please avoid hard exercise and very hot places, such as saunas, for a day or two.
Changes build gradually as your skin makes new collagen. How long they last depends on the product, the area and your skin, and your doctor may suggest occasional top-up sessions.

The products we use
We use established biostimulator products with a long safety record. Your doctor will recommend the one that suits you at your consultation.
Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid)
Sculptra is made from a material that has been used in medicine for decades and is gradually absorbed by the body. It encourages your skin to make new collagen over several months. It is often used where the face has lost volume or looks hollow.
Radiesse (calcium hydroxylapatite)
Radiesse is made of tiny particles in a gel. The gel gives some support straight away, and the particles then encourage new collagen as the gel is absorbed. It is often used on the jawline, lower face and neck, and a diluted version can improve skin quality over larger areas.
Combining treatments
Biostimulators can be combined with other treatments, such as polynucleotides, hyaluronic acid filler, Morpheus8 or exosome therapy, which your doctor may suggest. Your doctor will plan the order and combination with you.

Is it right for me?
Biostimulators are often chosen by adults from their mid-thirties onwards who notice their skin becoming less firm and want a gradual, natural-looking change.
You will see one of our doctors for an aesthetic consultation first. It costs £350, which is credited against your treatment. Book a consultation and your doctor will tell you whether biostimulators suit you.
